WHAT IS IN THE ARCHIVE?
- The Phi Delta Kappa publication archive contains bibliographies and abstracts of PDK's publications.
- Entries date from the 1970s through the present.
- The archives include abstracts for most PDK publications and Phi Delta Kappan articles since 1970. Most Kappan articles published since fall 1998 are available in full-text or PDF format.
- Please note that the full-text and PDF archive articles generally do not include photos, charts, cartoons, or graphics.
WHO CAN USE IT?
- Anyone can search the publication archive without registering or logging in.
- To view or download member-only electronic publications (EDge, Topics & Trends, Classroom Tips) you must register and log in as a PDK member.
- To view or download free PDFs of Phi Delta Kappan articles, you must register and log in as a PDK member or Kappan subscriber.
- Kappan subscribers may download free PDFs of Phi Delta Kappan articles only. For access to free PDFs of other publications, join PDK.
- If you are not a member or subscriber and wish to purchase Phi Delta Kappan articles (in PDF format), Kappan subscriptions, or other publications, become a PDK customer by clicking on “Add Item to Cart” and then following the instructions after you click on “Continue to Checkout.”
HOW DO I USE IT?
- The best search results are achieved by using the least, most specific information available.
- You can search by a word or phrase in the title or abstract or by author(s), keyword(s), or a date range.
- Search results can be limited to a specific range of dates, to a major category.
- To search by title: enter a single word or phrase from the title; there is no need to enter the complete title.
- To search for publications about a specific topic: there are two options. (1) Type in a relevant word or phrase in the Word or Phrase in Abstract box. OR (2) Click on "Select" next to a Keyword box. This second option will link you to a list of preselected keywords. The number in parentheses after a word in the keyword list indicates the number of entries identified by that keyword. (Because of changes to the database over time, you may get limited results when you select a phrase, such as "achievement gap." If this occurs, try selecting an individual word ["gap"].)
- To search byauthor: type the author’s name into the Author Last Name and First Name boxes.
- To search by date: select the beginning and ending month and/or year from the drop-down menu options in the Date Range boxes.
- To limit results to apublication type: select from the drop-down menu options in the Major Category box.
- After selecting search values, click on Search at the bottom of the page.
HOW DO I GET THE MATERIALS?

HELP! I CAN'T FIND WHAT I NEED.
- If you are unable to locate articles or publications with these search tools, e-mail PDK Research with your specific research question.
- If you didn’t receive an article you ordered, it may have been viewed as spam by your e-mail server because it is automatically generated. If you have a spam folder, check there. You should have received two e-mails almost immediately from customerservice@pdkintl.org – one that is an order confirmation and a second e-mail with your articles attached. Be sure to add www.pdkintl.org to your safe list.
