A user name and password is automatically assigned to all members. However, once you sign in to the website, you can set your own user name and password.
For members, your user name is temporarily set to the first initial of your first name and your full last name. For example, if your name is Royal Van Horn your new temporary user name is:
Note specifically the case sensitivity. If you have a first name that uses a different letter when shortened, for example, Robert vs. Bob, your new temporary user name will most likely begin with the first letter of your full name, "R" in this case. If that doesn't work, try the other letter ("B" for Bob).
The temporary password for members is your membership number. (If you are a PDK member, this is the six-digit number on your membership card or Phi Delta Kappan address label.)
If you are a PDK institutional subscriber, the rules governing your temporary log-in information are a bit different. Your user name is set as the zip code that is recorded on your institution’s record if your institution is based in the U.S. or Canada. If your institution is international, the user name is set to be your country name (all caps). Your password is set to be your six-digit number on your Phi Delta Kappan address label.
