Developing Educational Leaders of Character: Lessons from West Point

Snook After the end of the Cold War in 1989, the United States Military Academy at West Point underwent an unprecedented period of introspection. An early product of what turned out to be an almost 10-year 'institutional conversation' was a consensus that the purpose of the Academy was to 'provide the nation with leaders of character.' This article shares some hard-won insights about how to go about developing such leaders, such character.
