Louis E. Raths theorized that certain maladaptive behaviors may be a sign that students have had insufficient opportunities to develop their higher-order mental skills. If teachers provide these students with extensive practice in certain higher-order mental tasks, these counterproductive behaviors will diminish over time. A new curriculum model allows teachers to teach with an emphasis on thinking for every subject.(4pp.)
